Vickie McMillan, creates breathtaking wildlife and nature paintings that advance global conservation causes. Drawing upon her extensive field study and award-winning photography McMillan’s paintings are both accurate yet stylistic. Her works of art are in-demand among discriminating collectors of fine art and have been exhibited in such museums as it not limited to: Brisco Western Art Museum, Woodson Art Museum, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, The Wildling Museum, Museum of East Texas solo exhibit, Gilcrease Art Museum, The Great Plains Art Museum, Museum of the Gulf Coast solo exhibit, Artists for Conservation exhibit Vancouver Canada two years, Hunting Art Prize finalist two years, Art Center. The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival People Choice Award for Best Artist; on the front cover of the 2016 Artists for Conservation calendar, artist of the year for Safari Club International Houston and Houston Safari Club, and Published in books and Magazines such as The Artist's Magazine; PleinAir Magazine, Magazine National Oil & Acrylic Painter, Artist Portfolio Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine, Western Art and Architecture newspaper and magazine articles in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. McMillan is also known for her collaborative works not only in our community but in our state and around the world. She serves the community through collaborative outreach programs involving hundreds of people in the creation of one painting. Her collaborative paintings can be seen in the Woodlands mall, buildings, business' in and around Texas and the United States. Vickie recently completed two 65 ft. murals for the new Texas Children’s Hospital located in The Woodlands. She has taught private art lessons for many years, a judge for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art committee, and VASE judge. Her most recent award was recognized in The Woodlands as one of the 2017 Five who share award.
