Wildlife/ Habitat Conservation

Growing out of her passion to preserve the environment, Vickie McMillan is committed to generously using her influence and resources to contribute to important conservation initiatives around the world. As a member of the Houston Safari Club, the Texas Wildlife Association, Professional Hunters' Association of South Africa and the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas, and through her affiliation with and study at the Hoedspruit, South Africa Endangered Species Center and numerous South African wildlife preserves [Thornybush Game Reserve, Timbavati Game Reserve, Kapama Game Reserve, Raptor’s View Wildlife Reserve, Moditlo Game Reserve, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Khamai Reptile Center, and Kruger National Park] Vickie enthusiastically supports numerous efforts to protect endangered species and natural habitats in Texas, America, and around the world. Every year, she donates original artwork that is auctioned off to raise resources for conservation initiatives. To date her contributions have generated over $100,000. for important causes.

In addition, Vickie has used her African wildlife photography and paintings and stories of adventures in the bush to educate and inspire hundreds of children in Texas schools to care for and protect the environment. She loves to see the delight and wonderment on the face of a 3rd grader when he learns to appreciate the magnificence of creation through her work.
